Welcome to the Colorado Ethiopian Community Edir (CEC Edir). We are a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the Ethiopian community in Colorado. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for our members through family services, community programs, and partnerships.
Our History: CEC was reestablished in 2016 by concerned Ethiopians living in Denver, Colorado, uniting three previously existing Ethiopian Community Associations. Our roots trace back to 1992 when the first association was established. The old community organization was dissolved, and new management took over to address the real problems facing our community.
CEC Edir: CEC Edir, a vital component under the Colorado Ethiopian Community, was established to provide burial assistance and financial help to families during times of crisis, including illness, unemployment, and disability. With over 1,000 members, CEC Edir supports dignified burials and organizes support during difficult times.

CEC Edir OUR Office
ABOUT US
The Edir operates with its own bylaws and leadership, including a finance accountant, treasurer, chairman, and public relations officer. Every year, CEC Edir celebrates Family Day in July, fostering community spirit and unity.
Organizational Structure: CEC Edir is under the Colorado Ethiopian Community and functions as an integral part of it. The Edir was organized with guidance from guests from Dallas, who shared their experience and helped establish its structure. The Edir has since helped many members receive financial support during their times of loss.
Future Plans: CEC Edir plans to establish a Community center in cooperation with the Colorado Ethiopian Community, further strengthening our ability to serve and support our members.
We invite you to join us in our efforts to enhance the lives of Ethiopian Americans in Colorado, preserve our cultural heritage, and stand united in support of one another.
